Wyndgate Forest Chosen as Site for the 2013 St. Jude Dream HomeŽ
Preliminary plans have been announced for the 2013 St. Jude Dream HomeŽ Giveaway, the fourth of these nationwide charitable events to be conducted in the St. Louis region.
The annual Giveaway campaign is one of the largest single-event fundraisers benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded over a half-century ago by legendary entertainer Danny Thomas, the facility is renowned as one of the world’s premier pediatric research centers.
In 2010, Fischer & Frichtel was honored to be selected as St. Louis’ first Dream Home builder, a privilege that was repeated in 2011 and 2012, leading to the firm’s official designation as St. Jude’s Dream Home building partner for the metro region.
Last year, more than 8,000 raffle tickets were purchased, and drawing for the Grand Prize – a spectacular Fischer ranch in the prestigious Grandview community in Sunset Hills – was broadcast live on Fox 2-KTVI in September.
News has just been released that the 2013 Dream Home will be constructed on one of the stunning homesites recently acquired by Fischer & Frichtel in Wyndgate Forest, an established multi-builder development on Highway N in O’Fallon.
Residents of this upscale, master-planned community enjoy more than 50 acres of wooded common ground, a pool and bathhouse, several parks, a sports court, and trails for walking and biking. Served by the top-ranked Wentzville School District, Wyndgate Forest is surrounded by the area’s wealth of new shopping, dining, and entertainment facilities, including The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis.
St. Jude treats upwards of 260 patients each day, and the daily operating cost of $1.8 million is covered primarily by public contributions. All proceeds of the Giveaway, which raised an impressive $861,000 in St. Louis last year, go directly to the hospital, supporting its mission of finding cures and treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
According to a campaign spokesperson, “Fischer & Frichtel is sold on our mission, and we’re really excited about this year’s great location and the community in which the Dream Home will be built!”
Although the specific design has not yet been revealed, the Grand Prize will be a multi-level plan from one of the builder’s high-end Luxury Home portfolios. During the Giveaway campaign, drawings for 20 additional prizes, valued up to $10,000, will also be held. Procedures for purchasing tickets and dates for this summer’s open house tours of the completed Dream Home will be announced later this spring.
